19th Century Antique French Aubusson, hunt scene verdure tapestry in frame. Drawing inspiration from South Netherlandish (ca. 1500–1530) and Medieval Art, this hand-woven silk and wool antique French Aubusson tapestry features a lively hunt scene with dogs, horses, and gentlemen. The meticulous details define the idyllic landscape scene of hunting the French countryside as the a chateau is seen in the background. The hunt party is nicely nestled in the middle of a lush pastoral forest surrounded by trees, dense foliage, and flowers. The floral scroll border seamlessly blends into the pictorial scene without taking away from the majestic style. With its commitment to tradition and heart full of whimsy, this antique Aubusson wall hanging can enliven nearly any opulent period-interior with color and vitality. This is one of a series of two.
