Ornate Walnut side table in the Eastlake style, from the late 1800's. Solid and sturdy. Features lots of turning and spoon carving. Burlwood accent pieces throughout as photographed. Beautiful beveled and mitered corner 1" thick white marble unattached table top. The Eastlake furniture style as envisioned by it's namesake, Charles Lock Eastlake, started over his dislike of the excessive Rococo revival and renaissance styles popular during the Victorian Era. Eastlake called for the manufacture of simple, steady furniture. Although Eastlake furniture is technically considered Victorian (1870-1890) it breaks away from the curves and high relief carving of other styles from the same time period. Eastlake furniture is more geometric and incorporates more modest curves. less
