This monumental 116" Chinoiserie black lacquered breakfront by Union National Furniture of Jamestown, New York features gilt decoration, red lacquer interior, and raised carving at the base section along with hand-painted artwork depicting birds, foliage, and landscapes. The glass glazing is beveled and individually divided. Three 1/4" glass shelves divide each section and allow for plenty of display space. All sides are nicely trimmed with gilt borders. Solid brass single pull hardware with finely knurled border and center rosette. A finely crafted mahogany piece in excellent condition. Six lamps illuminate the cabinet. The Union National Company was formed in 1939 from the National Furniture Company. The Nord family has run the company since 1891. The Union National company produced high-end quality hardwood furniture for many celebrities including Wayne Newton, Lucille Ball, Jerry Lewis, and William Holden.
